Kangana Ranaut Starrer Jayalalithaa Biopic Put On Hold? Film's Producer Calls The Rumours Baseless

Since morning, reports of Kangana Ranaut starrer Jayalalithaa biopic, titled Thalaivi in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, postponed has been doing the rounds of social media. The film based on the real life of Tamil Nadu’s former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Reports stated that the film has hit roadblock and the makers decided to the film put on hold for some time. But looks like, there’s no truth in these reports. A while back, producer Vishnu Induri took to social media and called all these rumours baseless and said that the actress is indeed flying to Los Angeles on 19, for the prosthetic tests.

In his tweets, producer Induri wrote, “It is very disheartening to see baseless rumours being spread without verifying. The pre-production of #Thalaivi is in full swing and the team is in Mysore for the recce and as planned earlier the shoot will start post Diwali.”

Not only this, Vishnu Induri also revealed that the makers have roped in Hollywood Makeup artist Jason Collins for Kangana's look in the film. He writes, “#ThalaiviUpdate: Kangana has four looks spanning different ages in the film and we have roped in Hollywood Makeup artist Jason Collins for Kangana's makeover. #Thalaivi #KanganaRanaut

Earlier, while speaking to SpotboyE, Kangana had spoken about the politician and how she along with markers are trying hard to get her look right for the film. She told us, Jayalalithaa had a dancers body and they are planning to achieve that body. She said, “In her youthful days, she had a very tiny waist. We will try and achieve that through pads and prosthetics. Some technicians are coming from the US and we are going through some kind of trials in coming weeks and then we will make the final call but I think this is the first character where I will be going through a huge transformation. I think Datto had just teeth and hair but it wasn't that drastic where I had to resemble an individual"

She also said, “The film is based on her younger days till she becomes a chief minister for the first time. She was also a voluptuous woman with a round face. We are trying to get prosthetics.”
